Welcome to the University of Ottawa Disability Law Association

Introduction

The Disability Law Association (DLA) is a student-run club at the Common Law Section of the Faculty of Law, University of Ottawa.

Mandate

Our mandate is threefold:

1. to provide a forum to discuss disability law issues, and wider social issues such as human rights that relate to it;

2. to raise awareness about disability law issues within the faculty community; and

3. to assist law students to implement a barrier-free environment for all students including those with disabilities studying at the Faculty of Law.

NOTE

Although you do not need to identify as having a disability to take part in the activities of the Association, you should have an interest in disability issues and/or disability law, and a willingness to remain sensitive to those individuals who experience disability.

Current Events

24 October: The DLA Annual General Meeting will take place on 24 October from 11:30 - 13:00 in FTX 316. All are welcome!

Why Participate

1) to work with a group of students who are passionate about disability rights;

2) to shape the development of the DLA as a club; and

3) to take advantage of the opportunity to meet interesting lawyers, business professionals who others who share your interest in disability issues.
