President/ Co-President
- Must be a student in the Faculty of Common Law at the University of Ottawa;
- Coordinate guest lecture on topic related to disability laws mandate for the fall semester;
- Liaise with other student group and organizations that allied with the DLA mandate, and when opportunities arise that support the DLA mandate, coordinate joint events;
- Create new and innovative programs and events where appropriate;
- Assist with fundraisers;
- Assist with promotion of all DLA events;
- Create budgets with the Treasure for all events where money will be spent (other than the cost of printing posters to advertise general meeting);
- Maintain DLA’s e-mail (Disability.Law.Association@gmail.com);
- Coordinate executive;
- Support and train Communication chair and blogger manager, Treasure, Second Year Representative, Third Year Representative, and French Representative;
- Organizing meetings in a way that is accessible to all members of the Faculty of Law;
- Be willing to act as DLA ambassador after you leave the University of Ottawa (the DLA would like to continue to expand our network);
- Do any other task required by the organization;
- Take over the duties of communication chair and blogger for the summer months; and
- Help support the incoming president over the summer after term has finished.
Time commitment: 3-10 hours a week
Term May 1, 2013 – May 1 2014 with support to incoming president until September 2, 2014
